Climbing Cotopaxi

Ministry of Environment and Tourism announced on October 4th, 2017 that Cotopaxi National Park is opening in its totality, meaning the ascent of Cotopaxi Volcano is now permitted. This is great news for mountaineering in Ecuador! Cumbre Tours will do a scouting on the route to evaluate the route for its potential customers. We will inform accordingly and update all our tours. Please contact us directly to inquire about tours.

This program concentrates in Cotopaxi ascent. The Cotopaxi 5,897 m (19,347 ft.) is the second highest mountain in Ecuador and one of the highest active volcanoes in the world. While active, it is the most frequently climbed mountain in the country and one of the most visited peaks in South America. We recommend this program for guests that have a good previous acclimatization in Ecuador.
