Day 1:Arrival to Quito

Day 2: City tour of Quito
We visit Quito´s famous Colonial Quarter, named by the UNESCO a World Heritage Site. Colonial churches, lively plazas, museums and cultural discovery in Ecuador´s capital. After lunch, we head south of the Andes to the area of the Pita Canyon, where we will arrive to Las Cumbres Lodge to find our camping site ready for us. Day 3: Acclimmatization day and extra activities
We are at 3400m meters of altitude so it is a good day for us to acclimmatize and take it easy before our next adventures in the Andes. You can either choose to rest at the lodge with amazing views to active Cotopaxi if clear, or choose to do a short trekking to Condor Machay waterfall and then have an introductory class to rock climbing. In the afternoon, we will get together for a briefing of our next days and also have lectures about fitness and nutrition and athletic motivational speech (Karl Egloff, Swiss-Ecuadorian skyrunning record-holder and mountaineer). Day 4: Pasochoa trekking
The Pasochoa, an extinct volcano that is very fertile in consequence of the lava and the thousands of years that passed by the eruption. Covered in Andean forests and moorlands, you can find many different species of plants, trees, animals and insects. Our trekking takes about 6 hours in total. On a clear day we can see Cotopaxi, Sincholagua, Rumiñahui and even Antisana volcano. After reaching Pasochoa Summit (4’200 m) we descend to our transfer and head to our lodge to rest for the night. Day 5: Ilinizas Reserve trekking
We start our wonderful trekking at the Virgin at 4000m. The hike to the hut will take us about 2-3 hours and one hour back. Traversing moorlands and a small polilepis forest, the hike is very scenic with great views of the valley. If guests desire and are fit, we can try for the summit of Iliniza Norte adding additional 2 hours from the hut up, and 2 hours descent total. Day 6: Mountain Bike El Chaupi area
Today the fun begins on our “iron horses”. We ride mountain bikes from our lodge, through beautiful haciendas and quaint small indian villages, observing the local hacienda life. The ride will take us about 3-4 hours with a maximum altitude of 3000m A fun path with cobblestone, dirt and paved routes will take us to our meeting point with our transfer to our next stop to rest. Day 7: Quilotoa trekking
We drive south throu incredible Andean villages and haciendas to reach the Quilotoa lagoon. On the way we visit Tigua, a small town reknowned for its unique colorful paintings and handcrafts. Quilotoa lake is one of Ecuador’s most spectacular sites, although relatively off the beaten path. The crater lake was formed when the volcano erupted many thousands of years ago. It is about 250 meters deep and is characterized by its stunningly bright turquoise color. Our trekking will be around the upper lake and will take us about 6-7 hours at an altitude of 3800m-4000m. Day 8: Chimborazo trekking
Today we leave the beautiful Quilotoa area and head to the Chimborazo (highest mountain in Ecuador 6310m) to the first refuge, Carrel at 4800m. being at the base of this imposing mountain is really magical. We descend by trekking towards our lodge for the night. Traversing the highlands and into the moorlands. We can see vicuñas (the Andean camelid) and if lucky the Condor, the Andean king of Ecuador. The trek will take us about 3-4 hours. We arrive to the lodge to rest. Accommodation: Chimborazo Lodge Meals: Breakfast, box lunch, dinner
Day 9: Baños
Today we head to the lively adventure base city of Baños. Located at the foothill of active Tungurahua volcano, we have spectacular views of the mountain. Baños is known for its adventure activities such as canyoning, rafting, trekking, mountain biking and more. We will visit the spectacular waterfalls at the outskirts of Baños, including the famous Pailón del Diablo. We will do a short trekking to discover more waterfalls and the amazing nature of the place. The afternoon and night is at leisure to discover this lively city! Day 10: Baños – Return to Quito
At the morning we will visit the famous viewpoints of Baños, with an amazing view to the city and to active Tunguragua volcano. Then we visit a stunning waterfall and head back to Quito. We will have lunch on the way and also stop at an indigenous market to learn about the local cultures. Evening at leisure. Accommodation: 593 Hostel Boutique Meals: Breakfast, lunch
Day 11: Transfer to airport
We transfer you to the airport to take your flight to Galapagos for an extension trip or back home. Meals: Breakfast
